What is a chemical peel ?
Chemical peel is a surgical procedure in which Dr. Rapaport applies certain chemical agents to the skin in a controlled manner. A solution causes it to separate, and eventually peel, leaving a smoother surface. There are two types of chemical peel techniques: one is a light or medium peel used to remove superficial wrinkles; the other a deep peel, for more severe conditions. Bandaging may be required for deep peel, but is not used with the light peel.

What is a Chemical Peel Series ?
Recent discoveries have shown that when a series of peels are performed within a short time interval, the effect is greater than any one procedure. Dr. Rapaport has developed a series of light, and light medium peels that duplicate the results of a medium depth procedure without many disadvantages.Back to Top

What is a "Lunch Time" peel ?
Lunch time peel is a vaiation of the chemical peel series for Dr. Rapaport's patients who do not wish have any visible peeling. It combines 6 weekly light chemical peels with Dr. Rapaport's Ultra Skin at home peeling (patented) products. For patients with textural problems and discoloration the ability to improve these condition without any down time is greatly appreciated.

What can be expected following treatment ?
Every person has an individual response pattern. In most cases the procedure takes approximately 20 minutes, and is performed three times with a 2-3 week interval between each peel. A minimal amount of redness and tingling develops, which ends prior to leaving the office. Within 2 to 5 days a light peeling is faintly visible and lasts about 5 days. Special moisturizers and medications are given with written instruction. Back to Top
