WA thread lift surgeon will first administer a local anesthetic to numb the area, and then weave an actual thread under the skin. The thread used in the procedure is the same material as medical sutures but with barbs, which act like Velcro to hold the skin in place. Once under the skin, the thread hooks in and the surgeon pulls the skin into place. Thread lift patients are typically able to return to work the next day, and any swelling usually subsides within a couple of days. The results generally last for several years, depending on the patient.
